 Hi All,

      Spring is taking way too long to come her in NY, but lets stay positive and keep on enjoying
the things we love second best to a warm, beautiful, sunny day... good food.

Here is a delicious recipe for..

 SLOW ROASTED TOMATO & BASIL HUMMUS.

               INGREDIENTS

               * 30 Small Tomatoes, quartered (about half the size of a Roma tomato) or 60
                  cherry tomatoes
               * 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (divided)
               * Salt and Pepper
               * 3 cups Garbanzo Beans (2cans), cooked, skins removed
               * 2 Garlic cloves, peeled
               * juice of 1 large Lemon
               * 1 1/2 teaspoons Sea Salt
               * 3 tablespoons Tahini
               * 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup Water or reserved garbanzo bean liquid
               * 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves

            DIRECTIONS

             1 - Preheat the oven to 300 degrees
             2 - Place the sliced tomatoes on a baking sheet, cut aside up so that they are
                  spaced close together, but not touching.  Drizzle the tomatoes with the
                  1/4 cup olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.  Place in the
                  preheated oven on the top rack and roast about 2 hours for cherry tomatoes,
                  and 3 hours for larger tomatoes.  Tomatoes are done when they are somewhat
                  shriveled and the tops have begun to caramelize.  Let tomatoes cool.  Placed
                  tomatoes and oil in bowl.
              3 - Place the skinned garbanzo beans, garlic cloves, lemon juice, salt, tahini,
                   2 tablespoons olive oil, and 1/4 cup of the water in a high speed blender.
                   Process until the mixture is completely smooth.   The mixture may be too
                   thick to easily blend.  If this is the case, continue adding liquid until it easily
                   blends together.  We use a full 3/4 cup of garbanzo bean liquid, but you may
                   prefer less if you like your hummus on the thicker side.
               4 - Add 1/2 of the roasted tomatoes to the hummus (do not add the oil it's
                    sitting in - just what clings to the tomatoes will suffice) and blend again
                    until the mixture is silky and smooth.
               5 - Spoon the hummus into a serving bowl and run a spoon across the top of
                    the hummus to create a swirl.  Spoon the remaining roasted tomatoes over
                    the top of the hummus, along with the oil.
               6 - Top with small basil leaves.

IKEA - GREAT FINDS IN RATTAN CHAIRS

 Hi All,
     Some time ago I took a couple of Ikea Rattan chairs that maybe I paid $120 a piece for and decided to paint them.  They came out so adorable, bought pillows to match from Pottery Barn and I got a custom look that I loved.  Since then Ikea has added a few more Rattan chairs to their inventory that I think can be incorporated into many of our relaxed beachy designs.  Take a peek!!!

WHISK - Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Hey Everyone,

My sister Donna and I took a quick trip into Williamsburg, Brooklyn this weekend.  What once used to be a place to avoid has blossomed into a trendy beautiful shopping district with the most amazing small shops and quaint restaurants.  This weekend we decided to visit Whisk, the coolest kitchen store around.  All of those little things you didn't know you needed you suddenly can't live without.   I can't say enough about the neighborhood or the shopping.

Here we are, shopping buddies

 Hi All,

     It's been quite a while since my last post, so much has happened and I am on the brink of a very exciting project.  An entire house remodel! Bit by Bit I will post all of the small inspirations that make a house a home.  Together we will go thru this process and in the end the final product will be amazing.  I am starting off slow, researching hardware companies then on to cabinetry, but I have to say that EMTEK has really blown my mind.  They offer something special in every aspect of your home. Here are some timeless classics re-invented along with a great contemporary piece.  Enjoy!!!

Spring has Sprung! Time to get Gardening!!!

  Hey Everyone,

      This months Coastal Living is in, and of course we are all looking forward to a warm spring breeze, especially if your living in the NY area.   Planting flowers and bushes around the house is a must.  This winter was brutal and some of my more delicate grasses and softer leafed bushes do not look like they are going to make a come back.  It is so much easier to garden when there is a place for everything and a nice tall bench to work on.  I have yet to get a true dedicated bench, but I do have a really pretty shed for storage.  A girl can dream.....

I love Garden Sheds and Potting Stations
and this month's issue of Coastal Living focuses
a bit on that.

Here are some of the fun items they are featuring
 for your personal garden! Enjoy!!!

 I have two dedicated boards for Gardening Stations and Boxed Boxwood's
which happen to be another big favorite of mine.
